I'm back from Peking (Beijing). Actually I'm back home since last Saturday, so it's 5 days already. I miss the sceneries there, not the food, not the people, but the slower pace lifestyle in there.. When I touched down SG, I could feel the pressure running down my spine again.
The trip was pretty good, more of a heritage trip than a city tour. The city was very much cleaner than I expected, the weather was fine, the food is still alright although I find it a little bit too bland, and the things are so much affordable compared to those of SG. BUT, despite the beauty of the city and sceneries, the people ain't that well-cultivated. No basic courtesy, very money-oriented, and sort of practical. You buy their stuffs, they worship you. If you don't, they curse you!
Nothing much about the trip that surprises/impresses me, besides the Peking Duck and the Walls of China! The Peking Duck is probably the best of its kind I've ever eaten in my life, and I won't forget the crisp and juiciness of the duck skin and its tender meat! Walls of China, it's good because it took away half of my life =) It's a challenge for me to climb up the peak, but it's more of a challenge for the ancient people to build the walls on the mountains. Miraculous, splended, and awesome scenery from the top of the walls! See my facebook photos for reference.
Another amazing part of the trip was the performance 'Legend of Kung Fu'. The show depicts the life of a monk in a monastery, and how he practiced the art of KungFu and grew to become an abbot in years to come. That performance somehow enlightened me a bit, and I've learnt to understand more the meaning of life now.
The places I've gone to:
居庸长城
全聚德北京烤鸭
秀水街
雅秀服装
天安门
故宫
天坛
鸟巢国家体育场
王府井购物街
